I believe these are THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. I love to make them and eat them. They are crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. These chocolate chip cookies make terrific dunkers and can stand alone as a great treat! Grab me a glass of milk and dig in!
I recently put together a batch of the best chocolate cookies to send to D-Man’s and Big-C’s school fundraiser for their bake sale. This is my favorite school fundraiser, called Hoopalooza! Two sets of elementary school teachers team up for a game of wheelchair basketball. Most of the teachers are able-bodied adults who have had limited experience navigating in a wheelchair let alone playing a competitive game. Luckily we usually have some ringers helping out from the Wisconsin Adaptive Sports Association. Historically this fundraiser has helped raise money for our vision to build an all inclusive playground at the school.
a playground for all
My boys’ school is a great place to learn and grow. It’s a public school that is a wonderful part of the community. They have a nice playground that is open to the surrounding neighborhood kids to play on. This playground is lined by railroad ties and has a wood chip base. My son Big-C was slow on learning to walk due to his low muscle tone (he has Down Syndrome) this playground is difficult for him to navigate. I’m hoping for a playground that both of my kids could play on together!
A few years ago a group of like minded parents wanted all the kids to be able to play together on the playground no matter their ability. They started the SHADY LANE COMMUNITY AT PLAY go fund me page (click the link to find out more). I love this fundraiser! Anything that helps foster inclusiveness is great with me. If you are looking for a place to play with your able-bodied and differently-abled bodied children we are hoping to break ground in 2018.
My bake sale addition
Hopefully they will sell like hot cakes and bring in a little more money for our school. Our family typically cannot buy items at a bake sale, due to D-Man’s various allergies. We love to contribute. It gives me a chance to play in the kitchen. I try to include that my baked items are nut free and made in a nut free home. If another nut free family wants, they can eat my cookies!
I hope you enjoy these cookies (my boys and I already have). They are as always nut free! Let me know in the comments what you like to bring to bake sales. Thank for checking out Fun Happiness and Life feel free to poke around and see what else I have been up to.
