Mother’s day is just a few weeks away. Do you have your Mother’s Day gift picked out already? Or are you like most of us and have trouble finding just the right item to give your mom to show her how much you care? I have just the thing that you will be able to spoil her with. A self care gift to use at home and handmade by you! It has items to make her skin feel wonderful, help those mom eyes stay healthy, and if she gets under the weather something to help perk her up.natural organic products

A gift set like this in the retail stores would sell for at least $50. This Mother’s Day gift ended up costing me about $10. I had many of the ingredients at my home already and found the containers in a variety of places for very little cost. Every thing pulled together using a cute scrapbook paper and some Mod Podge. Let’s gather our ingredients and containers and then pop the self care items into a cute bag making a wonderfully thoughtful gift set.

Exfoliating Body scrub

The body scrub for this Mother’s Day gift is made with coconut oil, sugar and orange essential oil. The orange essential oil is invigorating in a shower and the scrub leaves your body feeling so soft and smooth. I got the container from the Dollar Tree store for a dollar, surprise! I make this body scrub for myself it’s simple to mix together. Homemade Mother's Day Gift to Pamper Mom. Using essential oils and coconut oil give her a gift from the heart

Under Eye Serum

The under eye serum has coconut oil, vitamin E oil and lavender essential oil. You can eliminate the lavender if you wish, it’s just put in to the recipe to help with sleep. I make this for my tired mom eyes, so it of course made it in the list for the homemade Mother’s Day gift. The eye serum I made for myself is in an reused Clinique container. For my mom (and my sister-spoiler) I found a more suitable container for a gift at Hobby Lobby.Homemade Mother's Day Gift to Pamper Mom. Eye Makeup Remover

The eye makeup remover is splashed together with distilled water, baby soap and baby oil. You can also make it with coconut oil, here’s where you can find the coconut oil recipe. I have had trouble in the past with coconut oil hardening in the eye makeup remover during the winter months so I use the following recipe instead. I found these cute bottles with a tight seal at our local Good Will store.Homemade Mother's Day Gift to Pamper Mom. Using essential oils and coconut oil give her a gift from the heart

  • 1/2 Tablespoon liquid tear-free baby soap
  • 1 teaspoon baby oil
  • 1/2 cup distilled water

Vapor rub

The final homemade Mother’s Day gift is for your mom (or sister) when they are not feeling their best. It’s a homemade vapor rub I whipped up this winter when it seemed NOBODY could shake their cold. I’m hoping those days are gone now that spring is here. Just in case I included this rub to help mom sleep at night, or use on her family members to help them sleep. This container was in my collection of mason jars. I love the stoutness of it. The jar fits perfectly in my bedside table, so I can grab it if I need it.Homemade Mother's Day Gift to Pamper Mom. The Finishing touches

All of the containers for this self care collection for Mother’s Day were found in a variety of places and are all different styles. To pull the individual gifts together I found some paper I liked from my scrapbooking pile and grabbed my outdoor Mod Podge. The outdoor Mod Podge is safe to get wet, and will continue to work. I printed out some quick labels with the name of the product and the ingredients. Using the same font for name and ingredients also helps to demonstrate that this Mother’s Day gift is intended to be a set.Homemade Mother's Day Gift to Pamper Mom. I hope that you enjoyed this simple and affordable Make It Monday addition to help you tell the mom in your life how much you care about her. Now my mom and my sister know what they are getting from me for their Mother’s Day gift!
